Emerging Mutations | em2

| Abstract |

The evolution of digital systems and emerging technologies is reconfiguring the manner in which designers develop space. A vast array of parametric systems and digital computation fabrication technologies has redefined the way we practice and develop our built environment.

The challenge of this studio is to embrace innovation and redefine spatial inhabitation as expressed through material research. Utilizing dynamic software, a series of investigations will challenge traditional architectural processes and search for more fluid interactive spatial systems.

The framework for the studio will be a multi-disciplinary approach that challenges traditional cannons of design. A new studio environment will be established to enable designers to investigate these new processes.

| Process |

A series of mini-seminars will be initiated at the beginning of the semester that will focus on utilizing the computer as a means of exploring new spatial and digital fabrication processes. Through digital technology we will employ a methodology that utilizes performative analysis as a means of production. We will create a process of design that is a seamless integration of digital evolution to full-scale fabrication.
